    Hi Stuart,
This is my first post in quite a while. I've sold all Jags...Now, I'm getting very close to buying a 2007 XKR portfolio with @115 thousand miles.
    Can't wait!
The potential problems according to the owner.
    1. The convertible sometimes sticks with raising or lowering.
this I'm guessing (going to look at the car wed. -. 2/15/2023
Should this be more than a bit of electrical troubleshooting? Motor?
    2. The passenger seat was replaced due to a slight scratch in leather.
After replacement, it has intermittent issues of no movement from switches.
    3. The passenger rear view glass/mirror has bubbled due to excessive heat. (
This last issue I think I can figure out.
Suggestions re: the convertible and the passenger seat switch issues
    Start with a manual correct?
    Thx, (in advance).
    Tim
I notice you were referred to as the "specialist" re: convertibles.
Regardless, I should properly post this in the forum.

    Stuart S--

Today I have been working on reattaching the rear window in my 2011 XK convertible per your instructions posted in 2017. It is no longer attached along the top of my window. I have suction clamps, Rhino glue and the rest. However, my top doesn't want to stretch downward enough for me to glue it the top to the glass. Any suggestions? In any event, thanks for your excellent posts on this subject.

    Vincent,
After the 3M adhesive failed, I used Rhino Glue. Read my reply again and click the link to read my detailed posts with photos. It's an easy repair.

Stuart, still having problems getting top to work after battery replacement, (working on it) But I also noticed the rear window has completely detached it self from convertible roof. Thank yo for the detailed repair instructions. Is the 3M adhesive holding up or should I use the Jaguar adhesive. Thank you for your time.

Just hitting the thank you button isn't quite enough so , thank you. Your reply was very helpful & I got a chuckle out of the description of your wife's car.

And the search begins, I've located a Portfolio at an upscale used car dealer close enough to me that I will go look at it next week. It has 36,000 miles and a $30,000 asking price.

    Jon,
This thread may be helpful: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...-fritz-114178/ When all else fails ... see the dealer.

    Stuart...

I had connected the CTEK and had no results after about 12 hours. Having no alternative otherwise, I jump started the car yesterday morning and let it run for a half hour before shutting it off. The lights immediately quit dancing and everything seems fine thus far. I reconnected the CTEK immediately after shutting it off and its still connected. The battery charge indicator finally turned green, after being connected for about 18 hours. As I said earlier on, everything seems to be ok, however the auto up function on the power windows does not work. The auto down works fine though...

Thanks again for your input and help. Take care, Jon

    Hi Jon ,

That's the first I've heard of that happening, and don't know the cause. Do you always lock your car when it's parked? If not, lock it to turn off convenience mode and see if it still happens. I'd try using the CTEK continually for a week and see if that makes any difference. Weird things happen when a battery gets weak. I'd also post this on the Forum and see if anyone has experienced the same thing. I don't drive my XKR every day and keep it connected to my CTEK. Good luck and let me know what you find out.

    Hi there again Stuart...

I have a question about electrical issues with my XKR. I've read numerous threads regarding the issues we all could experience with the batteries. Just today, I finally experienced my first battery issue. I installed a CTEK several months ago, but until now, I haven't had to plug it in to recharge the system on a daily basis. That said, maybe I should have been...1

Anyhow, I came home to find the marker lights doing a funny kinda blinking, irregularly, like an alarm had been activated. That said, the blinking pattern was irregular and sometimes very faint. At times they would quit, only to continue again... Question for you is this... Does this random electrical flashing sound like something that is characteristic for the 2008 XKR convertible? If so, it would make sense, I guess...

Thanks very much and any info and/or wisdom you might impart would be very much appreciated.

    Thanks, Jon

    Hello Stuart...

I was recently able to secure a black 19" spare for my 2008 XKR. I will be ordering a wheel spacer very soon as well. My question is, what jack kit did you obtain for your car? Is it a year and period correct set up for the XKR or is it for another model? Your assistance is welcomed.

    Thank you very much, Jon
