Default 1958 Jag MK2 - Parts Project - Parts for 1964 Daimler??

Good People of Jaguar Forums -

Greetings and thanks for sharing posts, knowledge and experiences with this neophyte. I am learning. "An hour with a wiseman is worth ten years of college." - Chin Chao & Twain.

Here is a 1958 Jaguar.
1958 Jag Mkll parts or project

Are any of the parts to this 1958 applicable to a 1964 Daimler?
Can I substitute interior parts?
Engine, Body, etc?

I hate to see classics cannibalized or rotting away ( Better to wear out than rust out ). But if there are any MUST-HAVE parts before this 1958 gem goes, what should I grab?

Your opinions please....

To start with, that's not a Mark 2 in your link, it's a Mark 1.
So very few parts will be interchangeable with a Daimler.
Some odd bits will fit like the interior door handles, wiper motor, but the whole roof line is lower then the Daimler and the dash is different, so none of the wood is interchangeable (but most of the wood in your photos is shot anyway).
None of the seats will fit _ front and back...
Doors are different and can't be made to fit...

Thank you for post.
Save me time and effort, and gave me a bit of knowledge.
The original post stated Mark II.
What key markers were you able to see that made the determination of Mark I andnot Mark II?

Lots _ the roof line is much lower _ the small rear wind shield _ the doors have body work and no chrome around the windows (the MK2 has solid chrome window channels where the MK1 has body work)
The layout of the dash is entirely different _ solid rear wheel fender skirts _ I could go on...

Just google images for MK1 and 2 and you will see the difference.

I'm still learning the layout and rules of this forum.
I wasn't sure if it was acceptable practice to post t other sites, let alone parts or cars for sale.

Last I heard, it was an abandoned vehicle in the mountains.
I'll check again.

*IF* it is still available or such, can I post contact info?

I come across cars like this every once in awhile.
A Daimler was in the junkyard two years ago, and was crushed for slag!

I just bought a 59 MK1 basket case this weekend. Would be interested in a boot lid, if anyone has one as the lower edge on mine is pretty well rotted out. Fortunately it seems that's the worst of the rust, but I'll know better when I get it home and pull the carpets (SO much carpet...) and get a full look at the floor pans and inner rockers.

Some time back, I bought a collection of parts from a guy who had sold his Mark 2. I have doors, glass, instrument panels 3.4 engine and matching overdrive gearbox etc. They are not pristine but could be of use at a sensible price.
