1960 MK2 not a restoration, not a rusto rod, just a Bonus Trap

"Looks like you spark plug access is OK _ at least at this point." JeffR1
JeffR1 you caught me not paying attention. The engine is going back another 1 1/2" +. The left rear plug may need its own access hole from the drivers foot well.
"As seen on TV". Glad I don't have one. I watch the car shows at my girlfriends house. Foam/poly blocks are ~$300+. I've seen them for sale on Craig's List with stripped threads. My mock block is on loan from my local machine shop - CAMS - Canton Automotive Machine Service. We dropped the engine and trans in as a unit. Its a pain in the arm running the crank on the weight transfer screw. Not sure a poly block would have been up to the task of the transmission's weight.

A setback, of the footwell, that is. It is going to be easier to get the engine in the correctly this way. Foot well will end up back 1.5" to three inches. The dash and firewall will remain in the stock position.
Jeff, my neighbor, is the master of de construction. He has also installed new backs to the inner fenders that were the removed footwells.
Wore out the second set of spotweld removers. Made the trip to Hard Krom in Akron, Ohio for more. Last trip, I hope so.
Hopefully, the engine will be back in by Tuesday for another check in the filling process.

Clyde, you are one brave soul and doing amazing work. From the amount of work I'm guessing yours will be the only Mark 2 with a Mark Morrison chassis. As luck would have it my neighbor is a rocket scientist - his contribution to the project was asking if I was using CAD/CAM for my modifications. Consider yourself lucky!

Thanks Doug!
I've created my own set of issues.
Friday's joke was "How about a Viper V10?"
I've created my own set of issues.
- Putting Ford in a Chevy chassis.
- Putting in a Windsor, when a 302 base would have fit.
- Always believing "no substitute for cubic inches"

Installed a schedule 40 drive shaft. De constructed the tunnel from the transmission back to the rear seat bulkhead. Floor of trunk is also being raised behind the seat bulkhead to allow for the upward travel of the center section.
Tunnel is moving up about two inches.
Rear end reinstall and at full compression.

Welder is back from a thumb injury. Bad infection. Ok now.
Motor and transmission mounts are welded in place, front cross member is notched for Ford oil pan. Finished up some welds at back seat.
Reminded by the welder it is fit and finish, not fill and grind. I've vowed to do a better job on refitting the firewall.
More moths coming out of the wallet - said I would order the cylinder heads when the motor mounts were in.

No pictures, but here are some updates. Footwell 85% fitted. Working on pedal box for mustang fox body pedals at the same time, along with new steering column mounts. Moved the right rear floor outboard 7/8" of an inch to compensate for moving the engine and transmission to the right.
Looks like we will be over 700 HP. Victor Glidden II heads and intake from BES racing on the way.
Hydra boost on order from Hydratech. Adding whoa to the go.
Hope to start building the exhaust system in August. I think the car will go back on the rotisserie for the exhaust project.

Primaz,
Love of look of the system you linked. Typically they'll only support up to 600 or so and would not support the heads I've purchased. The manifold in the pictures is ported to the heads.
The battle in my mind is between the FAST System with 8 injectors in the throttle body or a carb.
I'm not fond of going through the hood, or the resulting change in the cars lines, but this time I will.
Thanks for looking. I appreciate the link & comments.

Started out not wanting to cut the hood. Wanting to be north of 700 HP got the best of me. Thinking of using a portion of a second MK2 hood stacked on the first, slid to the rear to form the scoop. Sounds nuts.
Going to build the engine, hopefully by Christmas. Then stuff it back in and seen how bad things are.
