1960 MKII Rod Journal Specs.
I am about to take my crankshaft to a machine shop for either polishing or grinding. When I disassembled the engine, the crank appeared to have no wear or scarring, but before I have it only polished, I need to know the exact specification for the rod journals. The service manual is very specific about the main journals, but I'm not sure I am interpreting the rod journal information correctly. The manual indicates the crankpin bearing bore as 2.233-2.2335. Is this the same as the rod journal dimension? Thanks in advance for any clarification or information.

I may have said this before, but I would be very concerned if I needed to tell the machine shop what spec to grind any crank to.
The grinding of the crank must be matched to the bearing shells that will be fitted, you should get the machine shop to supply the shells so that they grind the crank to suit. This will avoid any errors when the engine is rebuilt.
