1965 3.8 s newbie seeking advice

Ok, let's give this a shot. I feel inept so I could use some help. And advice a step at a time.
I have having electrical challenges with my 65 3.8 s and a step at a time should be a good thing.
I am having intermittent challenges with the starter motor turning over, and I no longer hear the fuel pumps working. I charge the battery fully. I opened the fuse panel. All fuses seem to be ok, but I discovered some wires disconnected. Circuits 1-7 are all connected. Circuit 8 has no wires connected, but this is consistent with my shop manual. There are two purple wires, with a plug connector, hanging out in the fuse panel. There is also a coaxial looking black cable with no apparent connection point. I am hoping to find some guidance here.
I was hoping to attach photos, but I am also challenged discovering how to do that.

From what I can tell from your photos is that allot of the connections are quite oxidized and need cleaning.
Check all the connections at the fuel pump _ where they connect at the fuse box too. The same goes for the starter, most problem with starters are bad connections at the solenoid and the push button on the dash to activate the solenoid. Make sure all the grounds are clean.
As for the disconnected wires you will have to trace those back with a wiring diagram to see where they go and why they have been disconnected. A volt ohm meter is a much needed tool here. Don't forget to disconnect the battery before trouble shooting.
Because the fuel pump and starter were working those disconnected wires may have nothing to do with your starter/pump problems.
Also, just because the fuses look OK doesn't mean they are, old fuses develop cold solder connections and need replacing. You can also do simple continuity tests with you volt/ohm meter with fuses.
Here are some diagrams on the site in PDF form.

Thanks so much Jeff, I appreciate the time you spent replying to my post.
I am busy cleaning the connections in the fuse panel. Fortunately, I own a volt ohm meter which I am putting to work. I discovered two addition wires with no apparent origin of disconnect so this challenge grows. I am hopeful that the links you sent me will have more detailed information than my shop manual.
I am hopeful of discovering someone on here that knows a 65 3.8 S fuse panel intimately.![Wink](https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/images/smilies/wink.gif)
Thanks so much.

the S type fuse panel is very simple and basic, count your blessings.
might the attached diagram help?
to add photos to a post, click at the bottom of the text box where it says: "GO ADVANCED", a new window opens.
then scroll down on the page and click where it says "MANAGE ATTACHMENTS", another window opens,
click on BROWSE to find the picture you want to attach, (ideally you want to place the picture(s) on your DESKTOP ahead to find them easily.
then select the picture and then click on UPLOAD.
