Looks to be in really good condition.

Those were the days that Lyons just said to his design crew ~ build me an engine with more cylinders than a current Mercedes ~ to hell with the thirst. Have it quoted in one of my Jag books.

Apparently won't work because of the compression ratio of the NA engine. It was 10:1 and the supercharged was 8.5:1

Might be OK with a centrifugal. It gives little or no boost at low speed when the engine is breathing well. With the right matching, the boost coincides with the fall in volumetric efficiency at high revs. The big negative is the cost compared with Roots blowers and turbos.

Yes ~ there are ways around the compression issue.

I want to offer a sincere thank you for all the help and fun this community offered along the way. I've always said that a classic car is only as good as the community that supports it and once again I count myself lucky to find this forum.

What's next for me? I'm starting my search for the next Jaguar project. I looked at a Mk IX last night which was tempting but not sure that's the one. Maybe a Mk II or S-type? All I know is that the older the better!
Hey....that's me! I want to thank you Thorsen for building one hell of a car 'for me'. I owned and ran a one man body/rust repair specialty shop (sheet metal restorations) for 40 years. Now I'm out of that scene, daddio and I have zero interesting in taking it to the next level, actually. Had enough of that! Just want to drive it & bask in it's unique, unloved, avant garde '60s Jaguarness.
LOVE your new XJ-12! Light yellow is one of my top-most favorite colors. I like'em with either red or green interiors.
Looking forward to seeing you working your magic on it! (And buying it once you've completed it haha~) I trust you're going w/a std. trans, no?
