3.8 S sleeper bodywork almost done!
Hi Primaz,
Would you mind sharing some information about your front coil overs? Which model did you use? Do you have any photos? Did you need to modify the crossmember turret to accommodate the coil-overs? I am using the stock 3.8 engine with Moss gearbox and overdrive with perhaps some weight added due to the rack and pinion I have installed. How does one determine the model of coil-overs needs?
Finally, how does one install the coil-overs compared to the stock coil springs? Thanks very much!

MK,
I used the QA1 adjustable coil over shocks and have posted pics, take a look either at this posting or my other posting on beefing up rear suspension as there are lots of pics. The front was a bit harder especially with the Jaguar having tapered springs rather than springs of the same diameter top and bottom.
MK, I will try to take some more pics as I realized most of my pics were of the rear coil overs.....

Thanks, I do think the Jaguars have beautiful lines for the body of their cars so for me I just want to update the performance to something more powerful, reliable, and efficient. It is never as easy nor fast as they make it look on TV but I am on the home stretch and am excited as I have an appointment to drop the car off Jan 20th to the interior & stereo shop! I cannot wait to finally drive the Jag!

Here are some pics of the front suspension Lin. We just installed the front sway bar as well. I included a couple of shots of the rear coil overs along with a couple shots of the exhaust with CO sensors

Those are great! Thank you. It looks as if the coil overs were installed without modification of the turret? Can you share the part numbers for the coil overs you used? I will still talk with the supplier, but it would be nice to start with what worked on your car.
You are the best. Thanks again!

Dynamat installed...
Trying to get ready for bringing the Jag to the interior shop. Dynamat installed on the interior and trunk over the layer of sound insulating paint. Starting to work on mounting the trunk rail system. Each rail is rated for about 700-800 lbs. The two rails will have a custom aluminum frame to enable all of the mobile office to be mounted. This will enable the entire trunk to slide out for easy access to the refrigerator, microwave, color lazar jet printer, high speed scanner, hole punch & pro binding machine.

mobile road warrior....
check this out.... By next week both rails will have the custom mounts to hold them in place. These rails are made for industrial applications and they are so strong you can put your entire weight on one rail and it will hold you with ease. This will make it easy to access any of the office tools and when work is done grab a cold beverage chilled to 40 degrees
Hmmm.... I wonder if there will be any room left to stuff a sexy secretary in the trunk????

I think these will be the last progress pics...
After these pictures, my next posting should be the completion photos! The interior is coming along very nicely and only will be a few more days before it is done. Then there are still small bits: installing the wood, new steering wheel, AC, heater, troubleshooting steering rack, and finalizing the rear trunk rack and shaking the car down. I hope to post the completion photos by the end of May if all goes well...
The stereo really came out great! It rocks! All speakers are completely hidden. Separate Focals hidden in a custom rear deck and custom kick panel enclosures in the front with 6" JL Audio subs in a custom speaker box located at the passenger floor that kick like 10"'s. I cannot wait to make this my daily driver.

In post 46 you show some details of the beautiful wheels on the car. They tweaked my imagination as I'd never considered anything except new Daytons for mine. Can you provide more details regarding the dimensions and supplier? Offset is critical and even more so, can you remove them thru the standard wheelwell before you pulled it out. Not having your resources I don't want to do wheelwell work. Wider tires on my E have made the rears difficult to remove, that's why I ask...Steve

The Jaguar 5 lug is the same as the Chevy 5 lug 4.75, I am running a 17" x 8.5" wide rim with a 5.75" offset. Yes I can remove the wheels thru the standard wheel wells with no problems. The rims did not require any modifications to the wheel wells; to be extra safe I went and had my body shop pull the rear fenders just a hair, maybe 1/4" to 1/2" but you cannot see any difference from stock. If I did not slightly pull the fenders I believe it would clear the wells with no problems. If you use that tool to measure wheels sold at places like tirerack.com and measure it right then you will have no issues on clearance. I wanted to stuff the fattest tires I could so now I am running 245 40 17's on the 3.8s which is huge as previously I saw the widest was 225 and that guy cut the fender wells and I wanted it to look totally stock. If you use the right offset on say a MKII there will be no need to put those combs fender flares as you can stuff fatter tires without the need for flares of any kind stock or otherwise. You can run any three piece wheel, I used complete custom wheel CCR as they provide great billet wheels and will do any custom offset.
The owner is great as he is so helpful, many of the high end sports car racer's from vipers, cobra's, etc. use their wheels http://www.ccwheel.com/
