I have a nice DeWalt heat gun kit, I n3ver thought of using. So starting next week I’m heating and scraping. Oh boy.

I have used a scaler with good success to remove undercoating, scale, and rust. If its very hard and thick you have to work with it, but otherwise it does work. Messy and need a compressor with a lot of capacity. Tough to clean certain tight corners. Will still have to clean up the areas after scaling with perhaps a solvent and a scraper. The process will remove any paint if you get aggressive.

In the States we have these tool stores and this is the one I have. I also bought extra pins and also you can somewhat sharpen the tips as they wear.
