Actually sintered Bronze, you clean them with solvent and back flushing, last for years and very uniform filtering with high flow charecteristics.

I can't find that tech bulletin, do you have the number ?

Interestingly I can't find that filter in the UK, did they use a different one here ?

Re the gauze screen, this only filters the fuel on the way out of the bowl, the idea being it trapped the debris on the way out to the carbs and when no fuel is passing the crud can drop to the bottom of the bowl, there should not in theory be any crud on top of the screen.

Tilly I will look up the TB but the screen that came with pre 68 cars actually filters toward the carbs. The center hole is "IN" and the screen is "Out". That was reversed on the V 12 cars so the longer filter with the spring was correct for them but NOT for six cyl cars--of course some have gone to the trouble of reversing the lines--instead of obtaining the correct filter. Tilly a quick search of E bay UK found this https://www.ebay.co.uk/p/ACDelco-Gla...75.c100623.m-1 As Joey and I said they fit many things --try a petrol powered tractor supply co.

Thanks George, let me know re TB, may have misunderstood re the screen, you said crud gets trapped on top of the screen, if the centre hole is IN (which I agree), then fuel goes directly into the glass bowl, and exits up and through the screen to the carbs, catching the crud under the screen, as the top side if towards the carbs.

Thanks for the link, it's still from the US and cheap at only $100 delivered ! I will do a search for the part number to see if I can find an equivalent here.

I have never studied the flow direction for the paper filters, I will have to take a look when I get a moment

Tilly take a look at this--it explains it well. The comment re: filter not available was toward the bunt cake type. The paper replacement is avail everywhere.

Tilly the bulletin is C32 dated Jan.1968 and is retroactive.

I was referring to a post about the filters being readily available as they were used on tractors and 57 Chevys. I havent’ done any research beyond that. I know mine has the screen in the bowl. I’ll look for the bundt type filter.

GF 124 is the modern version of the bunt cake--available everywhere!

This is a follow up Spare parts bulletin from 1969. These were repeated several times for a few years. Imparts replaced the Jaguar Spare Parts bulletins.

Thanks George, found it now, under General - Bulletin No5 April 1969


I have all the TB's for SS Cars and Jaguar up to 2009 together with the parts and service books, but not always easy to find certain specifics.


Still not found a supply in the UK that doesn't want £40 for a filter !!!


I have an old school agricultural parts stockist nearby that may be able to help.
