Default Car Cover

Hi All,
Does anyone know where I can get a decent tailormade indoor dust cover for my MK2 ? I got this one delivered this morning needless to say they are having it back!

Cheers
Ray

These folk specialise in Jaguar back to 1950. I just use a stretch BRG COSMOS on my S Type & it fits fine.

Cheers Glyn, It doesn't look as though they are based in the UK I've been looking at the Kalahari which seems to look quite good

They are based in Spain. If you want a good old UK company. These folk were recommended to me ~ be prepared to pay. Kalahari covers look pretty good. The reason I went for the cheaper COSMOS stretch was I wanted 2. One on the car & one in the wash. They also won a Classic car shootout for what it's worth. Being stretch they fit well. Keep dust off the car to reduce washing. Have no effect whatsoever on the paint.

use only a Fabric / Textile cover. No vinyl. Vinyl will ruin the paint. I used a vinyl cover in my XJ-6 and it damaged the paint. Vinyl does not breathe like textiles.
I have a fabric cover for the S type, came with the car. Made in the 1970's by a famous company no longer in business. Still like new and it can be washed.

Typical COSMOS fit so as not to oversell. Jag curves help. Comes in a carry bag.

  • Auto Express Best Buy 2019 Indoor Car Covers
  • Supersoft Fabric, Breathable, Zero Condensation, Dustproof Cover. Lightweight, silky smooth and a stretchy material so it will prevent from damaging your paintwork
  • Effectively protects your car from sand, dust, paint surface fading and UV exposure.
  • Cost effective.
Vinyl is the worst thing you can put over paint ~ it sweats & traps moisture, It will first cause blotches & ultimately delamination. Not to be confused with vinyl wrapping where nothing is trapped between the vinyl & the paint.

Never put a cover on a dirty car.

HA HA !
The Blob lives !

It does cover the car though, sort of one size fits all _ probably made in China, I wouldn't leave it on the car too long, it'll probably eat the paint away.

I wanted something made to measure and I managed to have a deal with the manufacturers of the Kalahari. Fleece lined in BRG with Red piping. They will even put in pockets for the wing mirrors £248.50 all in, including delivery 2-3 weeks. I will take a photo and post when I have it
Cheers
Ray

Great ~ understood. I know exactly what you mean ~ enjoy. They will put logos on them and all. Above is what £50 buys you. Yours is what £250 buys you. A friend paid £450 for his Audi R8 with Audi Logo & all on it. I'm happy with my one on the car & one in the wash. The fleece lining gives protection from light knocks.

Tailored Aston Vantage V12S ~ £385
