Door interchangeability

Mark 1 doors are not the same as Mk2 or S-Type. The mark 1 Doors are much lower to match the lower roof line of the Mark 1, they also have body work at the top where as the S-type and Mark 2 is chrome.
And even tough the S-type doors look the same as Mk2, the catch is different.
So none are really interchangeable.

When I rebuilt a Mark 2 in the 80s, I managed to buy a full set of new S-type doors at an advantageous price, and had them converted to take the Mark 2 door latches. The old doors were used to provide the fixing for the Mark 2 latches, so were scrapped. The only thing I found not quite right was there was a larger gap at the bottom of the door to the sill than the Mark 2 doors. But this didn't prevent the door from abutting to the door seal.
The chrome-plated brass window frames are separate to the door pressings, and the S-type is different to the Mark 2, as the roof profile is different, so are not interchangeable.
