What is the best way to hang doors on the 1959 MK 1? Hinges on the pillar first or on the door? Any help appreciated.

If the slide adjustments are on the door, hang the hinges on the pillar first.

Thanks for the reply. Ive tried that but given how short the bolts are and how much movement away the slide adjustments move I cant even get a bolt started. and a few of the bolts seem impossible to even get to. All this while not damageing any metal or paint. tips or tricks? Thank you kindly. Good day.

Those types of things are best done with a helper. Tough to hold a door in place and start bolts on your own, without damaging paint.

Clean original bolts first with a brass wire wheel and if the threads are damaged, refurbish them with a chaser nut. In some cases a tap may be necessary to restore the threads in the pillar.
The use of WD-40 on the threads is always a good idea, work the threads until you can screw the bolts in and out with your free hands.

WD-40 should be used first before using a chaser nut and tap.

To mount the door, use longer bolts to take the weight of the door, leaving one open for one of the original bolts.
With the longer bolts temporarily taking the weight of the door, it will be much easier, to start the stock bolts, removing the longer ones as necessary.

Excellent advice. Worked perfectly.
