Default Filter in fuel tank MkII

Hi Chaps,
Its been a while and I'm still not on the road :-(

There is a filter in the fuel tank- (I can see the nut from underneath)
Am I right in saying the fuel pick up pipe (to the pump) lies inside this ?

Cheers

From memory that is quite right! The problem will be in lining up the pick-up pipe into the top of the filter! If it is slightly mis-aligned it is a swine to get it to re-assemble. I recall having to slightly distort the pick-up pipe to do it on a replacement tank I bought.

there is a sump in the plug, my screen had long ago rotted off, plug was a bear to get out(use anti-seize) I have used a Fram HPG-1 before the pump cause that plug is pricey...

Apparently you can never have too many filters. Every SU float bowl I've cleaned has had crap in it (like fine clay silt).

You would think 4 defences (tank filter, pre-pump filter, glass bowl filter and banjo bolt filters) would be enough. FFS.
