Flex-A-Lite stainless fan

Has anyone installed a Flex-A-Lite stainless fan in a MK2 (3.8S)?
It appears it may have too large a depth to clear the belts and/or radiator. XK's unlimited offered a metal 7 bladed Flex-A-Lite fan for the MK2 /3.8S. The original fan is 16" diameter and I do not see any 7 bladed 16" fan in the Flex-A-Lite catalog. It also appears that XK's Unlimited no longer offers this. At least it is not in inventory.
Flex-A-Lite recommends a 1" space between the fan blade periphery and the shroud. My new fiberglass shroud at the smallest diameter measures approximately 16 1/2". Unless the fan is entirely forward of the shrouds lip it would have to be modified.

keep the original fan.
I installed a vinyl flex fan from Retro Air, it didn't fit either, had to trim it, and the main problem with those flex fans is that at certain rpm's they stop cooling the engine because they flatten out, causing an abnormal rise in temperature when the opposite should be the result. And when they are in the "normal" shape, you need to add spacers and longer bolts so the blades will clear, which meant more weight on the water pump bearing, nahh, too much hassle. Those fans are over rated.
that was my experience. As soon as I reinstalled the old original fan, the problem went away.
