forward engineering heads
I have a 1961 3.8 manual modified for classic racing. It has apparently a Forward Engineering Head fitted. Forward have long been out of business. Can anybody tell me what Numbers or Marks would be on a Forward Head to verify this is in fact correct. Forward stickers are available but thats the easy part, I want to authenticate the car properly.

The person who probably knows most about Forward Engineering is Rob Beere (Rob Beere Racing). He used to work with Ron Beaty at Forward Engineering decades ago and has more or less taken his place in the market of performance modification of XK and V12 Jaguar engines. I'm sure he'd be pleased to talk to you about your car and it's cylinder head.

I don't think Ron Beaty put any sort of official stamp on his heads, though Rob Beere can say for sure. He produced engines in every level of tune depending on application. That went from basic blue printing, matching manifolds to the head and removing casting marks and flash (this especially for later 4.2 engines that were not so well finished by the factory), to extensive modification of inlet tracts - the inlet valve guide bosses will have disappeared from a serious racing 3.4 or 3.8.
