Default Fuel hose size

Hello All,

my Mk2 lives a few hours away from my house, but will be moving closer in a few weeks. As I left it last time, I noticed that whilst not showing any signs of failure there was a braided fuel line that looked a little past its best.

For the odd run about down to the MOT place I'm not that worried, but for a 2hr drive on the motorway to get it home I'm just a little wary.

From looking at the parts list in the manual and SNG Barrat website, I suspect that the routing of the fuels lines has been modified by a previous owner as they all look like hard lines on the original drawings.

I will obviously give it a closer inspection before doing any serious driving on it, but I would like to have a spare bit of hose with me should I decide it's worse than I thought and I'd like to replace it before I set off.

A long shot given it's not a stock part - but I wonder if anyone might know what ID hose I should order?

many thanks,

B

I think the metal lines were 3/8", (but might have been 1/4") so the flexible needs to be similar ID, (obviously a bigger OD than the metal pipe. I put on cupro-nickel on my Mark 2 back in the 80s.

Sorry, but it's such a long time ago and memory fades !!
