Default Fuel injection

i want a bit more of modern reliability for my Jag.
so I figured fuel injection and ignition.
I've done a fer mega squirt projects in the past, and have friends with much more experience.

who makes a FI manifild fro the 3.8? ITB's wold be nice but not a deal breaker.

I know I could fabricate something, but would rather not.

Electronic ignition from a reputable manufacturer will be better, but EFI will put complexity into the car without any reliability benefits, although the fuel consumption might improve. Can't see the point of EFI as it's not your daily drive car, is it ?

Nothing wrong with carburetors for reliability...
Replace the old fashioned points with an aftermarket electronic ignition.
I plan to put a Pertronix one in mine.
I found the biggest pain in the *** with Jag points is not that they are unreliable, but the inaccessibility when it's time to change them.

not going to be a daily driver, but it would be nice to do some longer distance cruising.
got to figure its been 20 years since I've owned a carburated car.

I have a 1960 MK2 3.8, and have been investigating EFI conversion.
you will need to determine first if it is a Type B head or straight port head.
Straight port head is the E type + and there are plenty of triple DCOE manifolds which can take Injection TB. there is mangoletsi who also do direct injection, can find contact details, but it is only for straight port head...
However, as you will note not much space, Jenvey have a 30mm TB with injection.
Also Webcon.co.UK have a non straight port head which is the D type triple webber 3.4 6 CYL 3 X DCOE NON STRAIGHT PORT HEAD. I believe it will fit 3.8

Steve is spot on. These Jag motors are similar to Datsun inline 6 engines just not as much horsepower potential. For maximum power I would go with a manifold set up for triples and set it up with fuel injection. Using a good computer to control it will give you more power and more reliability as well as improved fuel economy. The advantage of fuel injection is the computer will always adjust the mixture so you do not run into issues like carbs do going to different altitudes and finding your car running like crap. If you stay with SU's or Webbers the only way to get the car to run when you go to a much different altitude is to carry a spare set of jets and install them which is a big hassle. I've done the same electronic ignition to get rid of mechanical points is some of my Z cars and it is better but does not solve altitude issues.

Thats a very good point, no matter which direction I choose to go, there are major altitude changes, FI will solve that.
