Jaguar MK2 1959 Unusual Front Bump Stop
Hi,
I've just started to rebuild the front suspension on my 1959 MK2, I have discovered that the top front wishbones are pressed steel rather than the cast/forged type used on the later years.
The two halfs of the wishbone bolt together at the ball joint the same as later cars bu they also have a tap on each one which has a bolt running through.
Sandwiched between the two halfs and held by the bolt is an inverted T shaped piece of metal onto which is bonded the upper bump stop.
This doesn't seem to be in the MK2 or MK1 parts books that I have, has anyone come across this?
Thanks for any help you can give.

Hi
The part no you need should be C15701, page 255 of the parts manual (hopefully), the bad news is these are no longer available.
I have a complete spare front axle from the same year, which I need to refurbish at some time.
You have to replace the complete wishbone with the newer type together with new bolts washers and new style rebound stops.
I will dig more to see what I can come up with
