You're not going mad, it's SNG _ read this. And yes to your question. SNG obviously haven't fixed the catalog error, probably never will.

I think this issue was solved in another thread, or was it this thread??
yes, SNG Barrat has the incorrect part numbers for the Brake Pedal springS, (there are two springs).
ok, if it wasn't this thread, it was another one last year, so it should be "findable"
I was confused too and the poster too, but he figured it and posted the correct information. So yes, it's not you, the problem comes from the 1960's parts catalogs which SNG uses.

I complained so much I got them to send me the right one for free. I also said that I wasn't going to send the old one back to the UK.
If they wanted it back, they would have to pay the shipping.
When I told them what was going on, they insisted that they were correct and obviously nothing has changed.
The whole things was such a mess just for a silly return spring.

I have spoken to SNG today and the guy said that he will get the manufacturer part numbers changed over so that the correct part should now be delivered, hopefully they do that, but not until I have my new spring otherwise I will have another brake spring turn up tomorrow!!!
Watch this space.

I had an extra fuel tank in the car when it arrived, which was in much better condition, but I thought I would take the filter and sender out of the old tank to see what they were like before ordering more new parts, you will see that i wasn't much of a decision !!
So new parts fitted and in went the spare tank which turned out was brand new and immaculate internally, just a real bad paint job, which resembled icing rather than paint, so I rubbed it down and gave it 2 new coats of paint.

Just had a ridiculous conversation with SNG about the fuel line kit they supplied.
The kit is not OE, but all seems good, the only thing was that the fuel filter end comes with it's Enot nut, but no Olive (Stupid I think if you call this a kit) so I call them up, and they say that they list a stepped Olive part No. C37133/6 which I duly order.
So I go to fit the Olive and find that it is too loose and of no use, so I call them up, I get informed that the kit supersedes the old fuel line, and that is how it comes, but as it is not OE they don't list the Olive, so would have to contact the manufacturer of the fuel pipe kit and come back to me. He even asked me if I could use the old Olive after we had just ascertained that the old Olive was the wrong size !!!!!
So out with the Verniers, and order a 5/16" stepped olive for a few pence off the internet as I doubt I will hear anything back from SNG !!!

I have not heard many good things (long-term) about de-crudd-ing and resealing old gas tanks so I you made a good choice. I wasted a lot of a summer trying to fix my old tank, and then it still sprung a few leaks :-P
And I'll just say again how pretty your Jaguar is getting to be And she looks close to driving condition!

I was lucky that there was a new tank with the car, I'm not sure I would have tried to resurrect the old tank after seeing the state it was in.
Thank you Gene, it's a way off driving yet, but I am getting there slowly, have a few bits to sort out and then I need to strip and sort out the doors, bonnet and boot and then the respray can start properly.
Got the inside coated in the finished color, boot next then the doors etc.

Heater box was on the agenda today, usual mess and some rust, seized lower flap and completely shot water valve.
This is well documented on MK2's Valvechatter site, so I won't bother with the details, a few pics below of what I started with and the repaired area before re-drilling the vent and painting, I removed the brazing from the lower flap, so I could shift the pivot pin and free up the flap, and I have acid etch primed and just shot a coat of black over the box.
Ordered some self adhesive neoprene sheet which I shall make new seals from and a new water valve and some other bits. I will take the heater matrix to be re-cored with a more efficient core for better heat transfer.
The motor is in very good condition, and appears to work very efficiently, it seems to pump out a lot of air despite many comments that these are poor fans, was there an upgrade to these in the later MK2's ?

I concur the comments re fuel tanks. Years ago, I removed my tank and replaced the mounting rubbers. All seemed well with a nicely painted tank. But on running the vehicle, I had problems with crud accumulating in the fuel filter. I removed the tank again and did the POR 15 cleaning and internal re-lining. Initially, all was fine. Then I began to smell fuel and discovered a fuel weep at the front of the tank! Removal again and very close inspection showed that a repair had been done by a previous owner. There was fibreglass tape wrapped around the tank and a good layer of thick paint disguising it. Removal of the tape revealed a hole in the tank that appeared to have been caused by something akin to angle iron having been forced into the leading edge of the tank. This damage had not been repaired - just taped over.

"Stupid Previous Owner Tricks" - It boggles my mind the "bodge jobs" I see just in my own car... From the cheap underpowered fuel pump, to the times when I see 2 screws holding stuff that should have 5, to the completely haphazard wiring - I'm truly amazed that our cars work as well as they do. And "good on" all of us who are getting our cars ready (The Right Way!) to face the next 60 years!
Jon, I look forward to the day when I see your car in a show or on the road somewhere. The best to you sir.
