Front of front door & bonnet/hood T piece. If you don't fit these the chrome strip blows off at speed.

The same goes for the windscreen chrome if you don't glue it on.

Thank you, thats a detailed summary of all of the exterior chrome fitting.
I have the rivets with the washer and have fitted the chrome finishers around the car.
The door trim has the T/L shaped front piece bolted through the front edge of the door keeping it stable.
The bonnet edge has each of the bend over clips, the only issue there is making sure they are tightly gripped.
I recall taking the chrome strip from the centre of the bonnet, it didn't require any drilling of the old rivets but I recall they all snapped off, suggesting they were plastic retainers. I certainly don't recall undoing any nuts or bolts and would still have them if I had done so.
The kit SBS1271FK includes plastic retainers, BD20887, for the number plate chrome surround but they are not wide enough to hold the bonnet centre and , however the plastic nuts with compound in them, BD21040, make a lot of sense. The picture of the underside of my bonnet shows a circular indentation below the slots just a bit larger than the plastic nuts so maybe additional sealer required? I don't have any bolts similar to yours with the flanges to hold the bonnet trim, however if in SA the bonnet trim is held on with fittings through a hole rather than the slots this would make a difference and also by becoming holes rather than slots a lot easier to keep water out.
The failing seems to be in the kit of not having broader plastic trim clips, similar to the number plate surround, BD20887, but instead they have replaced them with the small metal finisher retainer clip BD9851. Using the supplied rivets with washers on, BD26706/1, will be very difficult with the bonnet on. I think I am going to go down the route of Self tappers through the retainer clips BD9851 and have the plastic retainer nuts on the underside of the bonnet, BD21040, and give that a try.

SA Cars had some differences & Barratts kit has changed a little. Depends what they can get. My number plate strip holding pieces are the same as those.

I'm pretty sure that all the chrome clips on my car are the same as when it left Browns Lane in January 1963. The clips for the bonnet centre chrome are the same as those shown by CSBush at post 31 in the thread above. They may be a neat arrangement - assuming they work as intended. They look as though they are what the elongated holes were intended to accept. As far as I can find, no one seems to supply them.
