Default Mark 2 radio antenna option?

Ive noticed even though a radio was installed, at least 5 right hand drive cars had no antenna on the fender or roof.
Was it an option or did it have to do with euro country regs?

So far as I am aware, the radio antenna could be fitted on the front fender or roof. There was a hand wound up variant available in the early days. So far as I know, there are no restrictions as to where they could be fitted, or not!
