This looks like part of the tool box that sits in the spare wheel in the boot.

It is placed in the centre of the spare wheel.

The bit that you have is glued to the underside of the toolbox and you can just see the end of it in the 2nd picture Glyn has provided above.

The question is what has happened to the rest of the toolbox?
I have rebuilt a few of these toolboxes using better classes of wood glue.
