Hi
have a look at fitting your discs over the hubs as per they are now on cars
and not as bolted on the back of the hubs as they are now

Not much to add but the dash arrived, what’s the best way to restore the wood?

If the veneer is intact, a small compressor, a good quality air brush and automotive clear coat.
You will also need a dry place to work, a bunch of disposable in-line water traps for the compressor, and a full face respirator.

You need to remove the old varnish, I used paint stripper and a stanley knife blade and slowly scraped it off.

Then as above I used 2K car laquer, loads of coats to fill the grain then flat and mop it like car paintwork.

You might wish to read from post #35 here:

IMHO Low VOC nano ceramic automotive clearcoats are also a good choice. Spraygun Devilbiss GFG-670 Gravity Plus. Compressor IR industrial unit. Model unknown. We had excess bone dry air. We were working in a very low humidity area of the country anyway.

Don't be shy to do minor grain touch ups with varying colour stains & small art brushes etc to hide damage etc. should you have any prior to applying lacquer. All the pros do including British Autowood that is probably the best out there.

Great care should be taken not to sand through the veneer on edges etc.

I saw this up for sale a while back, think it was on eBay. At that time if had a load of panels with it and one was a complete chassis rail so it might need a fair bit of work underneath.

Looks a good project.

This was it a few years ago when I first saw it on ebay but it was relisted recently either on e-bay or on another website stripped like it is now with a load of panels including a complete new chassis leg. I can't find a link to that one.

It looks fairly rotten but if you love welding as much as I do that would make a good challenge!

Chassis rails look good, just rear outrigger/ jacking point not good and left inner arch

think I might just weld it up as it really doesn’t look that bad I’ve seen and repaired much worse (see pics above)

if if I can get the engine running then that is definitely the plan

Guess I’ll have to start another project page as I’m going to weld this one back together, it may not be a concourse resto but just get it welded and on the road as would be a real shame to chop it up

This is the ls left rear seat area right hand side is the same, other than these bits and left front inner arch that’s all that’s rotten structurally
