Default Moto Lita Steering Wheel Hub Fitment

Hate to ask this but I cannot see what's wrong with my Moto Lita hub fitment on my 340. The Moto Lita hub is 1/4 inch deeper than the stock wheel. When I engage the splines and tighten the nut the inner column will protrude higher than the center of the wheel not allowing the horn button to snap in place, It looks like I could keep tightening the nut until I reach the bottom of the threads,. By that time the horn contact would stand proud much higher than it should. Any thoughts?

Hmmm! puzzling. There are only 3 mountings. The standard 9 hole Moto Lita, the E Type & the Derrington (for Nardi & Momo their hubs have to be used ~ an adapter exists ). What Make is your wheel & do you have the full fitting kit? Talk to Moto Lita. They can be a frustrating bunch. Is everything assembled in the right order?

Is that the correct ring with the original screws? It looks different from mine.

Mine is the polished ring with countersunk set screws and a black hub, bought together in 1983.

How someone can put a black hub that is so badly finished on their wesite astounds me. I have a black hub and it is pristine.
