Mystery Scuttle Ventilator Part
Anyone know what the part in the image below is called? I cannot find it in the Spare Parts catalogue, though it may be there.
Mine is damaged by rust more than I would like. It looks much better in the photo than it actually is. I assume that these are unobtainable? Anyone know.
I would like to get the part name and number so that I could check with vendors.
I may just have to "remake" it.

I think this is called the "Operating Arm Assembly - for Scuttle Vent Lid" and can be found on page 380 of the Jaguar MK2 spare parts catalogue under the part number 6635. I have looked at the normal suppliers Robey and Barratt etc but cannot find that they sell this so it looks like you will have to remake. On the positive side it just looks like 1/4 inch bar with some attachments so maybe you can remake yourself quite easily,

Mystery Scuttle Ventilator Part
On Edge and Ray,
I have manual J.34. - Same as Ray below - as he states, there is a part number 6635 in it with the part referred to as "Operating Arm Assembly, for Scuttle Ventilator Lid" (page 380 under BODY SHELL).
Do we assume this to be the same part as 7897, just a different labeling?

Mystery Scuttle Ventilator Part
Well the mystery deepens. My book is April 64, reprinted in March 1972.
My book has "Operating Arm Assembly, for Scuttle Ventilator Lid" on page 380 under the body shell section
AND, it also has:
Torsion Bar Assembly for Ventilator Lid, (271/232) parts number 7897 on page 399.
So, the mystery is: are these parts one in the same or are they two different parts. If two different parts, what the heck are they?

Scuttle ventilator part - mystery solved
Dave, from the saloon lovers list got it right I believe. The operating arm assembly, for the ventilator lid arm part number 6635 is the operating arm that sticks down into the parcel shelf.
The part I was originally asking about (I supplied a photo) is the The torsion bar
assembly for ventilator lid, part number 7897. Neither is shown in
the drawings.
