Default Need help finding a part

Thinking it would be an easy part to find but I'm having trouble finding a proper replacement for the Power Steering Reservoir Cap. Someone previously put a pressure relief Radiator cap on my car and since it doesn't seal properly I'd like to replace it but have not found an original or aftermarket cap.

Anyone here know where I can find one? Trying to avoid using a radiator cap.

Thanks

I have a spare reservoir with a cap but would not be willing to split them. Having said that there are caps on E Bay that will fit. If you look for an expansion reservoir cap rather than a radiator cap this would fit. The difference is the radiator cap has a plunger that is spring loaded to a certain pressure ie 7lb I think in the case of the XK engine whereas the expansion caps do not have the plunger or spring. I fitted one of these to my reservoir only a couple of years ago as the old one was very tarnished and I could not polish it up.

Below are two pictures showing the difference between the expansion cap and the radiator cap.

Expansion tank cap with no plunger

Radiator cap with plunger and spring.

if you are in USA, go to a tractor supply store and see if they have a spare cap for a Ford Tractor power assist fluid can for 1960's Ford tractor power steering systems.

Just cut the guts out of a pressure cap & drill a tiny hole dead centre. Barratts will have blanking caps back in stock in a month. A new run is being done.

You need to select a dual seal radiator cap that most are today.

Thanks for the help. I purchased a cheap cap from Amazon. Good to know the real ones will be available soon from Barrats.

I'm waiting for a spare myself to keep in stock. It was one item delaying a courier shipment which is how I know. Sent the shipment & received 3 days later at my door ~ Good old DHL Saver Rate. They can just put the cap in Royal Mail once the new stock is ready.
