Oil pressure on a Jaguar S-Type 1965 3.8l
Good evening to alls
I am looking for official oil pressure Jaguar figures (Jaguar S-Type 1965) with cold start engine, warm idle and running at 2000 rpm.
I have found on a Jaguar documentation (September 1964) for in introduction in France : 2.8 kg/cm² (28.5 psi) while driving, with hot engine (using SAE 30 oil in summer and SAE 20 oil in winter)
What do you think of this information ,
Best Regards
Gérard

From the Jaguar Service Manual.
I would personally use a modern synthetic once engine is run in/broken in Winter SAE 5W~40, Summer & Tropical SAE 10W~40.
Run in on petroleum SAE 30 or 40 of max quality level SF ~ SE if you can find it. You might have to go to diesel oils to achieve this which is fine. Diesel engines do not run aggressive cams & are rev limited at 4500RPM due to the combustion process.
