Re shimming the rear suspension hubs is a terrible job. They fight you all the way. We cobbled up a jig. See Service Manual.

I'm in the oil industry. We cleaned all the aluminium work with our tank truck cleaner. The splined hub is spray painted. I dry lubricate my splines with a drying chain spray. Stops grease running down the spokes. If it can last on the chain of a bike on the Roof of Africa Rally it will do just fine. I use a Carl Bechem product.
