Default overdrive

i have a 68 240 mk2 with 60.000 miles had it 3 years overdrive does not work since I have had it you can hear the solenoid cliking so its not that any ides anyone

Is this an A series? Look under the square side cover and see if the linkage arm will move. I recall that the solenoid moves the lever....

a series wots that its 68 mk 2 jag 240 ?

The overdrive was made by Laycock de Normanville in Sheffield, England, and one the first units were called the "A Series". However, I'm not sure what Jaguar fitted.

yes its a laycock a type if solenoid cliks would it stil b necersery take cover of as its cliking so it must b working cheers
