In the near future I would like to add an electric fan and possibly electric power steering and maybe AC someday. First thing I did was to change to a negative ground and then I add an alternator. Then I added a battery cutoff switch to make it easier to work on the electrics. It also keeps the battery from running down when in storage.
The original 2 fuses are inadequate so I bought a simple fusebox from painless wiring. I has 2 banks of fuses so I thought it was good match for our 2 fuse system. One would be always on and the other is switched on with our key. The first fuse is for items that need 12v all the time, the clock, interior lights, 4 way flashers. These wires are all purple. The 2nd bank comes on when you turn the key. I split them between 2 fuses. The fusebox came with a relay but I just added a power wire to the 2nd bank instead. The first fuse is all the green wires and the second has the fuel pump, coil and headlights (for now). Everything seems to work, so far!
The first fuse I want to add will be for Halogen Headlights. They will use more current so will require a pair of relays to limit the current going thru the headlight switch. I found the wires that go to the left side junction. (see photo1) The wires coming from the dip switch gets diverted to the relay, then the hi/low outputs of the relay goes out to the headlights. (see photo2) I tucked the relays under the left wing. (photo3).
I ordered from Headlight Revolution a pair of Vision X 7" Round headlight housings and a pair of H4 90/100 Watt bulbs.

I bought some led bulbs for my turn signals but after the install they would not flash. I found out that our flasher unit requires enough current to heat up a bimetallic switch in order for it to flash. The new led bulbs use much less current so it will not operate the flasher. I needed to install a led relay that is solid state.
They both have 3 spade connectors in the shape of a U. The right spade connects to 12V and is 2 solid green wires. The other two are switched from the Jaguar flasher. The green/brown wire goes on the bottom of the U on the led relay, this goes on to the bulb and the green/purple wire goes on the left side of the U which comes from the switch.
Much brighter result. I had to drill out the hole to 1/4' with a step drill in order to mount it.
I picked up the led relay from AES Automotive Electrical Supply in England (140107) but now I see it on the Superbrightleds site. It replaces the stock Lucas flasher unit. It works like a charm.
You may be able to see from the pictures that I changed the map light to led with very noticeable results, so I am looking into adding more led lights.
You might consider using a full LED headlight. I used the Vision X 7" round LED which is one of the top rated.
