Primer, undercoating and paint

Mine was just painted when Jaguar sprayed the body (all the same colour)
I am painting it black and that looks fine because my car is a very dark blue (Westminster Blue)
When I was prepping the surface it didn't even look like Jaguar primed it first.
It was on there so thin that most of it was peeling off and getting surface rust on it _ it was done very poorly.

recommendations on undercoating....
I live near the Pacific Ocean and my recommendation on any car including the Jaguars is that all cars typically and especially the older cars have terrible protection due to the lack of modern paints.
I stripped my Jaguar 3.8S to the bare metal on the under chassis. I then applied POR-15 metal prep then the POR15 undercarriage coating. This stuff is the best as I have cars restored left outside and they are still like new with no rust! I would NOT recommend to replicate the stock undercoating unless you are doing a concourse car as it will not protect the car adequately against rust, etc.
