Radiomobile crank aerial
Hello all,
With the help of some great Jaguar friends I have a rebuilt (working perfectly) winder box for my hand cranked radio aerial. However, I am missing the pieces of the aerial mount that fit on the outside of the fender (wing). I have attached a photo from a car that has what I need. I am happy to pay a fair price for the needed components if anyone can help. Anyone have what I am looking for that you are not using?
Thanks very much.

if you mean the black rubber gasket/seal, the black half-moon plastic "ball", the chrome cover, and the chrome nut, those look to be generic parts found in any replacement antenna that you can purchase most anywhere. I don't think those were "Jaguar-designed" or exclusive-to-Jaguar parts. Most cars of the period had the same antenna, whether manual, or cranked, or electrically-operated, the mounting hardware is the same.
I have a manual antenna that came in my first car, a 1969 MG-B Mark 1, and the exterior pieces look identical to the picture you posted.

I too have a hand crank aerial fitted to my Mk2 but is different to the one shown by Jose. They are like 'Hens Teeth' as most people I have spoken to do not have one fitted or worse know anything about them. Mine is fitted just under the dashboard very near to the bonnet (Hood) release. I found it whilst messing about to cure my lost power problem.
I recently came across a dealer in the UK selling a electric version from 1960 made by Radiomobile for £165.00 I was very tempted as the crank from mine is missing.
Hope this helps

[QUOTE]Sorry to say I don't have any spare parts, but I do have a MK2 with that antenna and would like know how to remove it without damaging it. I also would like to know where the winder box sits and what is it attached to.
Due to corrosion of the mast lower mounting nut, it maybe be better to remove the mounting bracket and mast as one, either unbolt( MK IX etc.) or drill out spot welds (MK II etc.), and try and free up the nut out of the car.

These photos show where the winder mechanism is located on my car which is LH drive. The photos also show the location of the lower mount for the aerial mast. Hope these help.
