Scammer alert
I posted last week in the classified forum that I am looking for MK2 front and rear seat covers that are trashed but intact as we want to use them as patterns. We do our own upholstery work.
Yesterday I get this from a forum member called jsuther who I see got banned yesterday

Hello Jeff,
Yes i have MK2 Jag old seat covers. They are in excellent
condition. They are OEM covers off a 1960 MK2. I am asking $220
shipped. I will be shipping via UPS or FedEx which ever you prefer and
payment via CashApp BTC. Whats your shipping address?
Thanks
----------------------------------------------------------
I almost bit, but I requested photos and I got photos obviously downloaded from the web of brand new looking seats. He added he would remove the covers from the frames after he sold them.
Well that was the signal this was a scam
So beware,
jjsandsms
An yes I am still looking for seat covers, look at my post

I don't see evidence of a scam.
A scam is when you have paid for something, never received it, and the seller / money recipient does not answer.
If you pay by Paypal, you can start a claim for non-receipt of item paid for, and no reply from seller.
Same through eBay with their Buyer Protection.
But to call the reply "a scam", that's too early since you have not lost any money. Just because the pictures APPEAR to be from an online source, does not constitute a scam.
Ask the seller if those are the actual seat covers you will receive.

Call it what you want, apparently the same format of message appeared on another Jag forum, copied here. Also when I replied the so called seller said he only accepts "cashapp" which looks to me like something to do with bitcoins???

DefaultWe had a few similar instances recently of very old unused forum accounts suddenly being used to PM members. I've put a Permanent Ban on jsuther.
Don't respond to it. Log out of the forum and clear the cache on whatever device you are using before logging back in.

Jose I think we need to look into this more thoroughly as you say before we call it a scam. Can I suggest that you contact this Scott Bahena on our behalf and make the transaction. That way if and I repeat "IF" the seat covers don't arrive then we can take your advice and call it a scam.
In the mean time I am in touch with a Nigerian Prince who is selling a Jaguar Mk5 coupe for a couple of thousand pounds. It is cheap because he wants to hide the money he makes from the sale from his twelve wives as they are all divorcing him. It is not a scam because I have not sent him the money yet and I do have a photo of the car he sent me. Do you want to go halves. Send me your half of the money and I will negotiate with him on our behalf.
