Second try: Mystery MK2 bracket
x
This photo is from the engine bay of a 1962 MK2. Does anyone know the function of the trapezoidal bracket forward of the motor mount bracket (also intersects the triangular lower left-hand radiator mount bracket)? What gets attached to this bracket? Anything? (There is an identical bracket on the right-hand side of the engine bay.) If not, I'd like to use them to mount a cooler for the 700R4 transmission that will replace my DG-250. Thx.

Here's what the mount looks like.
You may even be able to bolt you cooler in place if you use longer bolts and it doesn't get in the way of the front suspension were in bolts onto the mounts.
