Default Window trims.

Good morning.
All for door windows on my ‘65 S-type have perished rubbers at the bottom where the chrome trim is. Are these available in the UK still? I don’t seem to be able to find them.
many help would be much appreciated.
Mark

Telephone COH Baines or David Manners. I'm sure one of them will find it. It's used on many cars including later Jaguar models.

Used by all. Do not trim ends for a few days. It stretches from pulling into the slot & will shrink back a little. Use lots of soapy water to insert. I bought mine from SNG Barratt. Plenty of stripping required to access chrome bead. I had mine re-chromed while out.

Actual profile cutting.

You have to get right into the door to remove those trims. Easiest with the main frame out. Sorry. not a great pic.

Once the window frame is out these rivets hold that strip with the window rubbers in place. Remember the rear window does not roll all the way down. So all has to come out.

As others have said, you need to remove the frame to get at the final rivet securing the trim to the door, which is under the rear quarter light. The part number is BD46440/1. They are a bit of a so and so to fit - but take your time. I used washing up liquid to ease them in. Leave them for a day after fitting as they shrink.

When it come to fitting - put the frame back in the door without the glass and offer the trim up to the frame. Then cut accordingly. Don’t forget that the frames need shimming (so keep any shims you find under the frame).
