Wiring the Wiper Motor on a 3,8 S Type

The motor has around 5-6 wires, its operation is quite complicated.
In simple terms it has power to the armature winding's and also the field coil that runs the motor at half speed.
Around the field coil is wrapped a resistance wire, when this is brought into circuit the field coil output is reduced and the motor spins faster to operate at normal speed.
When turned off the motor actually turns backwards before stopping which is why the motor is called a reverse park unit.
I found the diagram in the link below helped me understand how it works and then you need the vehicle wiring diagram to see how its all connected.

If all the wires are in place and the colours are still visible its probably better to connect it up as per the car wiring diagram and not look too closely into how it works, it just does!
