Hey forum! I'm 18, I've been full time employed since the day I turned 16 and I spend some of my money on are cars and computers, specifically ones off craigslist, here's a brief list of cars and the order I bought them (since age 16)
1. 1997 Lincoln Town Car Signature Series, 118k miles $800 (gave to my sister)
2. 2000 Volkswagen Passat 5spd 1.8t, 160k miles $300 (gave to my dad)
3. 1999 Mazda miata 5spd, 180k miles $1600
4. 1998 Jaguar XJR, 184k miles, $800 (newest member
)
The Jaguar was bought for $800 cash, and I found $52 in the sun-glass compartment from previous owner lol so $748, its in okay condition, peeling paint, a little rust, high miles, runs rough, but for $800 it was a steal.
Car was obviously neglected so first things I did was a high mileage full synthetic oil change and new spark plugs. When doing plugs I noticed they were drenched in oil so I will be trying to do my first v8 valve cover change soon, doesn't seem to hard. It also has an idling issue, it shakes side to side around 600-700rpm, thinking this is idle air control valve or possibly a vaccum leak. I already did a cigar test but could not see any smoke leaks. I'm looking forward to utilizing the resources on this forum and sharing my cheapo jag experience. If anyone's interested I can get around to taking pictures
I'd also love to be involved in the community in general so I look forward to member comments and messages as I post.

Welcome to the forum 18 & XJR,
Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.
I can see you've already found your way to the X308 forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.
You can also visit the US Lower Atlantic Region forum by following this link US Lower Atlantic - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to find other members in your region.
Enjoy the forums.
