Question 1984 XJ-CS prototype, 1 of 12 made

Hi,

I'm helping my dad research the history of his old Jaguar and could use some help! It's a 1984 XJ-CS and he was told it was created as a prototype and was 1 of only 12 that were ultimately manufactured by Jaguar before they decided not to go ahead with that prototype.

Does anyone know if there's a digital archive or online database where I could verify this info?

Thanks so much!

Welcome to the Forums.

I have not heard of it, but thats only me.

I know of the XJ-SC, of that era, which is also known as the Cabriolet, with detachable roof tops, and a sot top rear section. Not sure of the USA numbers on that model, and they are rare, but more than 12 for sure.

Some snaps of said car would be very helpful in this quest.

Good luck.

Welcome to the forums elleallen,

All the Jaguar factory historic records are held by JDHT (Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust):
https://www.jaguarheritage.com/archi.../certificates/

They do charge for providing detailed information.

Good luck.
