Question 1989 Jag Engine to Sell HELP

I need some help desperately. I have a beautiful red convertible 1989 Jag XJS. I dropped a valve on the engine. I will be putting in a Chevy 350 small block. I want to sell the Jag core engine complete with tranny. Only 37,000 original miles. Any ideas on selling it? Ebay? Here? I want to get a good price so I can get the Chevy engine. What's it worth? Please help. Respond here or at RogerCG1@aol.com PLEASE help. Thanks much!! Roger

if there is no demage to engine block why not fix the demage heads this will keep valve of jag up I just had my heads rebuilt & cost was $3500 if you still want to put in chev engine put jag on craigs list or call a junkyard up either way you will not get much money one other way is to take head of and have a shop redo head
you can do this yourself and put head on yourself it not very hard and when I did one of my jags it took about 8 hrs you can get information on how to do it, it really not very hard to do

Welcome to the forum RG123,

Sorry to hear about the dropped valve issue. Please take note of Norri's advice about just using the forum for advertising.

An unrefurbished short motor isn't going to be worth much except to someone who has put a rod through their block. A rebuild of your engine has to be the better route.

Good luck.
