1989 XJ6 new member
Just registered. Own -rather it owns me - 1989 XJ6, Severin Blue, 118000miles. Currently residing San Juan Island, WA state. Recent issue with the wiper motor not parking resolved from this forum - seems like corroded connections interior of motor drive at park switch. Removed and reinserted connectors on park switch and voila, wipers parked. Several times, in fact. Hope all my remaining issues are this easy.

Wow!! Thanks for making me feel welcome on this site and for the advice on using the forum. Yes, this is a rain forest, but corrosion aside, a very beautiful place to live. Most of the issues I have, not resulting from those issues purely age related (vehicle not me), are from not operating the vehicle sufficiently; spends all winter in the garage on blocks. Thanks again.

carid: Thanks. I have owned this vehicle since 1991 and has always provided the max in driving, and visual, enjoyment. The current crop of issues is mostly due to lack of use over the last 6 or so years. In a damp climate with reduced usage (we average less than 1800 mi/year) and just plain ignoring the vehicle has taking a toll and now is the time to set that right. Also, I have always wanted to own a 'classic' car. I did not realize that this vehicle, when purchased, would be that car. Had some trouble finding the XJ40 forum because I was looking in the wrong area - modern (which this vehicle was at purchase and remains that in my mind) instead of Classic. Ah, the joys of growing older.
