Default 1989 XJS convertible (wiring diagram)

Top of the morning Gentlemen and Ladies.
Thankyou for providing this site for all of us back-yard mechanics.
I am a British enthusiast who, for the past many years have owned a number of MGB's (1965), MGB-GT(1969),XJS (1972),Sovereign (1986) and an 89.and a 1972 Norton combat that has seen both oceans with me on it.!!
At present, I have been asked by a friend to help him get his 1989 XJS 12 cyl. convertible back on the road. A number of months ago he allowed a mechanic to service his electrical system in order to rectify a few problems (interior light, automatic door locks, and possibly a stereo system), as a result, he ended up with the interior of his car completely disassembled with no remedies to his initial request.Wires and switches door panels etc. disconnected and piled in the trunk.
I am in need of a thourough wiring diagram for said year and model, the serial number (if it helps) is 2AJNL48H43KC162929.
Again, thankyou Gentlemen for this opportunity to connect with like enthusiasts and possibly resolve this dilemma for my friend who also owns a 1968 E-type XKE (sorry for the previous improper info) that has been restored (in England) to show room and beyond condition, -which he might be selling- if a serious inquiry comes his way, I believe he expects about 500 K + which seems abit extreme but the car is beyond beautiful.
Well I guess that is enough about me, I look forward to any response, agin thankyou for your time.
D. Bowdler, Toronto, Canada.

Welcome to the forum,

500K she'll need to be a good one.

Good info from Jim above, do you still have the Norton, I have a Featherbed Commando tucked away in the garage awaiting some TLC.

Welcome D.Bowdler, hopefully you'll have that XJS back on the road again soon.

I have to agree with norri: 500K she'll need to be a good one.

Default Response to all.

My appology for the incorrect entry, thanks for pointing it out, I have edited the entry...1968 E'type, the rest is accurate...beyond showroom and beyond 500K, (I agree eeek)...although she is unique, I'll get a picture of her out to you all shortly.

In response to my Norton, yes I still have her, I spent last summer bringing her up to factory..brakes,bearings.clutch,oil pump, front forks etc..I originally found it completely dismantled in the back yard of a house I rented back in the early eighties, as the snow melted in the yard it slowly revealed what was to become my one true love..!! Vibrates better than any woman I have ever met.
(I hope that is not inappropriate for this site)
If I can help in any way with your Featherbed please do not hesitate to ask, worst case scenario..."sorry can't help"

I thank you gentlemen for the link to Gus, he responded immediatly with the information I needed for the XJS, I now have a complete factory shop manual in my system and have printed up a 63 page electrical guide.

Sincerely,
D. Bowdler
