I am new to these forums and recently purchased my first Jag, a 1994 XJ12 in perfect mechanical condition and solid cosmetically. My battery lost charge on me as the car was sitting while I was addressing some cosmetic issues. At any rate, once I trickle charged the battery the 4 note tone that played when the car was locked or unlocked by the keyless fobs is gone and replaced by a two note sound. Just wondered what was up. Ideas welcomed. Also, does anyone know what happens when you replace the distributor cap with a non-Marelli as they no longer make a cap for this engine. I am told that non-Marelli distributor caps can be an issue. I know Saab & Volvo as well as anyone and am trying to get my feet wet on what I consider a classic. Please advise. Jeff
