Check the auxiliary coolant pump. When mine went out the heater wouldn't provide heat. Usually the brushes in the motor will wear out. I replaced mine with some from a hobby shop for an RC motor. Not too hard to do. You can do it in an afternoon. The auxiliary pump is located underneath the heater control valve.
The aux. pump bolts to the frame rail. You can see it in the first picture located to the left of the heater control.

Please add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
