I've never belonged to a forum before so please bear with me. I have just purchased a 1997 XK8 Convertible. The convertible top liner has a hole cut into it where the top connects to the windshield ... mid center. It looks like it was once a handle perhaps? Or maybe a dome light, however there is no wiring to it. Would anyone know what this might have been. It's rather odd.

P.S. How can I change my "new member name" from suancarnahan to Ron Carnahan. It was entered incorrectly.

I believe what you are describing is the access hole for manual top deployment. Hopefully you never need it but we all have one.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
