Exclamation 1999 XJ8 Executive from Belgium

Hi everybody

I own a 1999 Jaguar XJ8 Executive.
I have a few small (or so it seems) problems with it.
I bought it about 6 months ago.
Up until now I have replaced the grill (which was chrome with black inserts) with a full chrome one. I also bought the chrome window trims, and I have replaced the ones is the middle (with the V8 logo) and the small triangular ones closest to the trunk. I haven't replaced the other ones yet because by accident I received parts for the LWB, so they do not fit right now. I'm thinking about maybe cutting the longer parts, but I'll have to see if it could be done nicely.
Furhtermore I have bought a new piano black gear knob which says 'Jaguar V8' along with the logo, because the one that's on normally is a brighter brown wood than the other wood interior items.

My front left (drivers side) door panel had holes in it (looks like a dog did it), so I replaced that as well. unfortunately they gave me door panel with a brighter color (almost gray, while my interior is more tan like). you don't really notice it until someone points it out. But if possible I'm going to buy one in the right color.

I don't really like my current rims, so I'm going to buy new ones, but that's for some other time, same goes for my steering wheel, I'd like one with an actual emblem, the one I have now has like an imprint (can't find the right word, sorry).

My current issues are the following:

- the two rear speakers don't work and I don't know why. I removed the door panels and they were connected, but I haven't done anything else yet.

- the seat belt on the drivers side doesn't always go back in smoothly when I leave the car sometimes it works, other times it just hangs loose. So I'm guessing I need a new seatbelt tensioner.

- the seat heater on the passengers seat doesn't work. No idea what the problem is.

- I have two DVD screens in the back of each front seat's head cushion, the left one doesn't have any sound.

So, since I'm new here and I'm having some trouble effectively navigating through the site, looking for stuff etc I could really use some help

thanks!

Welcome aboard Levyn.

I'd guess at a mess in the wiring for the Head unit/speakers/DVD player. Providing of course that you don't simply have the fader control set to front only.

Good to see you.

The fader control is in fact set to the front only, but only because the rear ones don't work
I removed the door panels and the wiring there was ok. My brother is a mechanic and he says it could be the radio itself. Working on a Jaguar is hell sometimes... My brother has oldtimer American cars and they are very simple to work on.
Oh and something happened with the AC, when it's blowing it makes a nasty sound. Almost like a vacuum cleaner that's too full.

Anyway, I do most of the work together with my brother, so when he has time I'll continue working on the car.
In the meantime I'm looking around the forum
