1st time Jag owner, 1999 XJ8 VDP 82,000 mi.
Hello, all! New member, former Lurker. Just bought a 1999 XJ8 VDP that I tried to ignore but demanded I buy it. (I didn't choose the Jag, the Jag chose me.) Was able to perform pre-purchase inspection with tips picked up on this forum. (Too many great posters to thank individually) Thanks, All! Actually tried to resist buying the car, as a last resort insisted my wife come with me for a test drive, knowing her overwhelming common sense would slap my infatuation upside the head. Failed utterly, within a few minutes of riding in the VDP her eyes were glowing and she asked, no demanded I buy the car! Here's hoping she's as enthusiastic 'bout the cost of repairs! I know I'm stating the obvious, but what a wonderful, enchanted, thrilling car to drive! Open highway or congested city, these things are nothing but Big Fun! I have a sinking feeling this car and I are about to meet many traffic patrol officers. Oh, well... cost of Jaguar ownership.

Welcome to the forum Coventrywood,
Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.
As a former lurker you won't need a link to the X308 tech forum. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.
Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
Enjoy the forums.
