Default 1st Time Jaguar Owner

Hello all. New member to the forum and thought I'd say hello. I've owned many cars in my many years of life. Some I sell and move on, others I keep and still move on, lol. (those of you that have multiple cars know how that makes the wives happy, lol). My wife says, "not another car, you hardly drive the ones you have now!"
I tell her, My uncle used to have a saying, "He who dies with the most toys wins!". She responds, "Wins what?", I just chuckle and leave it be.
I had bought a 77 corvette when I was in my 20's. That became a wknd car, and then just always had daily drivers and wknd drivers.
Some of the favorites: my 1st Buick Grand National, My 65 Shelby Cobra (felt like you were gonna die every time in it, but was the ultimate roadster, and a show stopper that earned many trophies).
After my Cobra I wanted to go back to a Grand National so I bought another. This one ran 10 second 1/4s, and pulled the front wheels off the ground. I didn't drive it much except to shows and cruise nights.
I sold that too. Wanted something to enjoy with my daughter. She liked Corvettes and Jaguars. bought a beautiful 98 Corvette in mint condition in Nassau Blue, but again didn't drive it much. In the 2 years I had it only left garage for 160 miles of driving, again, mostly to shows and cruise nights. The color was stunning but...it was another Corvette sharing the road with many corvettes you see daily. I wanted something different, something ya don't often see on the road.
Then last week came along my newly acquired 2007 Jaguar XK Coupe in Lunar Gray Metallic. I'm now a Jaguar owner, and eager to familiarize myself and enjoy. (hopefully it's not as finicky as my prior Range Rover was). My daughter loves the car, and my wife kinda likes it too, although she asks, "are you actually going to drive this one?", lol.

My other cars at present time are:
2006 Audi A4 (daily driver to commute to work, etc)
2012 Audi A7, Prestige with S-Line Sport trim package as well
2007 Jaguar XK Premium
2001 GMC Yukon XL - 9" lift, 38" Nitto Mud Grapplers, 4.88s both axles and many other enjoyable additions
2015 Volvo XC60 (currently my wife's car)

I'll post other pics as I get acquainted, and have more time to spend shining her up, etc. until then she's sitting comfortable where she'll spend most of her time tucked away safe in the garage.

Some people simply do Not understand that Owning a car has little to do with actually Driving the car.
Between us husband and I have 8 cars (4 each) which obviously we can only drive one at a time. The others are for Entertainment; and we know every waking moment where the other one is and doing what.

Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.

I'm betting that 65 Shelby Cobra put your hair on fire just before you thought you were going to die.

Don't know about this welcoming a "Big Bully" to our playground. But yea, I know what you mean. I have multiple vehicles, two of which only go to a car show or around the block once in a while like you. Its hard just to keep up with maintenance. If not going to a show I had been trying to drive them around the neighborhood at least once every month for "exercise" but sometimes I get busy and one might sit for two or three months. I got one out a few weeks ago and found it was pulling to the right. I spent last weekend rebuilding both front brake calipers. I'd forgotten how long it'd been since I did the flush. Seems like it was just a couple years ago but turns out it was way back in 2012.

yup. I took my truck out to have a refresh done a few weeks ago. new tires, shocks etc. had to wait for my guy to locate 38 x 15.5" tires to mount of my 16" Mickey Thompson wheels. I not a fan of big 22+ inch wheels, I like the big rubber. well long story short, I didn't even make it home afterwards. I blew out the rear yet again. it currently resides in the shop. Im probably better off just storing it there, lol.
