2001 S-Type six 105,000 miles
New member, Gene, from Branson.
We just bought a 01 S-Type, ran well for a couple of months, now some problems have occurred. Some of the posts I've read show many of you have had the same problems, one was the tranny thing, had that fixed, now it just won't start.
Took it to the Jag specialist in Springfield, Mo., he hooked up his $100,000 diagnostic equipment, changed some brains, etc., and tells us he can't figure it out.
My personal opinion might be that when I charged the battery and didn't connect it to a body ground, I may have fried something or have caused a short of some kind.
All his expert techs can't figure it out either, say all codes are fine, Duh! Where to go from here?
We absolutely think this is the finest road car we have ever owned and hate to sell it for scrap.
Would love to here from you all, Thanks tons, Gene

Welcome to the forum Gene,
Sorry to hear about the issues with your S-Type. Follow Norri's link to the S-Type section for help.
As much information as you can give on the run up to this problem, however unrelated it may seem, together with exactly what has been done in an attempt to rectify it will help target the advice.
Good luck.
Graham
