2002 Jaguar XJ Sport- Central FL.
Interestingly, my Jaguar has just developed an oil leak. I put in Mobil 1 Synthetic, and then it started leaking. I guess now I'm just going to replace it with Castrol Oil. Then hopefully it will stop. I just took a trip to Tampa though, and got 27.5 MPG average at 59 mph in heavy traffic, then it dropped to 25.5 at 73mph. Amazing- I have loved my Jag. Hopefully I can post some pornography soon-I mean pictures of the car, that is- I just cannot get this website to let me post or look at pictures. It's hugely upsetting. If anyone knows why I can't access anything please tell me. Any news about that oil leak/ cause? Thanks.

As for your oil leak please keep in mind the mileage of the car and the previous owner’s maintenance history. Many owners were not open to using synthetic lubricants and when you introduce it to the car it is like giving yourself a glass of prune juice, It will clean you out. It will also develop leaks that in the most part are minor until the seals adapt to the type of oil. Be patient and check it often to see if it is still a problem.

I think you need to leave it alone and keep an eye on it and see what takes place. Keep in mind the history of the car is a little vague so do not panic you are doing the right thing. Or you can get your favorite beverage sit back and watch it drip. Just keep an eye on the level.
I was thinking about your leak, is it leaking at the oil filter or drain plug? If not things should be ok! If it is check your seals at the filter and the drain plug.
