Default 2002 Supercharged Jaguar XKR: Melbourne, FL

I'm half British (Mom from UK) so figured I had to have a Jag (part of my heritage, right?). Bought the car last month with 33k miles from a professor at FIT. He bought it from a lady in Tampa, FL. Car is in great shape and a dream to drive. Can't believe I'm driving a car that was 75k brand new! Still getting used to driving it. My last car was a FIAT 500 so going from 101HP to 370HP has been interesting! Looking forward to learning more about my Jag through this forum. Have a check engine light that is on. Had a check fuel cap alert. Reseated the feul cap and the alert went away. Alert came back on and reseated the cap again. Alert went away but check engine light won't go off. Thoughts?

Jeff

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums. That's some upgrade from a Fiat 500!

When troubleshooting Jaguars, a code reader is the place to start.

The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

A very warm welcome Jeff. Many like minded enthusiasts here to help when things go slightly awry.

You may need to see if the car has thrown any codes to start your troubleshooting. I would suggest you start with a fully charged battery and try the hard reset to see if it settles down.

Enjoy the car and the forum.

So THAT"S why I liked Jags first time I saw them!! <light bulb moment> My father's people came across the Pond centuries ago! LOL

I can well imagine the surprise going from a Fiat to a Jaguar! You'll have even more fun in the time ahead.

Welcome, Jeff, from ElinorB.

Welcome Jeff, you'll have that check light issue sorted soon enough. As advised above, get a code reader and find out for yourself what's going on. This forum is a wealth of information, with members eager to help out.
